This win was on a 7 game slate on Fanduel a while back, which is my ideal number of games to have in tourney play, anywhere from 6-8 is perfect. If you have more than that it is a crap shoot. With 6-8 game slates you can look at the stats, how batters do against right handed pitching vs left handed, how pitchers do home and away and make a sound judgement on who to pick for your lineup. 10 plus slates got you researching all day and then last minute a player might be out of the lineup and you are scrambling to replace that player.
Tonight on fanduel there is a 7 game slate, and chances are it will get knocked down to 6 with the Royals vs. Indians being rained out. So your first step should be steering clear of that game.
Now we look into the pitching tonight and who is going against who. The Colorado Rockies have a chance at a big game offensively going up against the Giants and Drew Pomeranz who is 2-7 with a 7.09 era this season. Another team in a good spot tonight is the New York Yankees going against Aaron Sanchez of the Toronto Blue Jays who is 3-9 with a 5.49 era. These two games would be where most of my batting lineup would come from with the opposing teams pitchers also sporting an ERA over 4, these two games should see the most runs. Along with the Phillies having a good match up vs. Steven Matz. Then there is always the Braves lineup who remains hot going against Jon Lester with a 4.13 ERA.
As far as who to pick for my pitcher tonight, Clayton Kershaw tops the list although he is expensive, he is 7-1 with a 2.85 ERA going against the Diamondbacks. Next up Lucas Giolito who is 10-2 with a 2.74 ERA going up against the Red Sox. My pick for tonight will be Jon Gray go up against the San Francisco Giants who are not known for their offense. Gray is 7-5 with an ERA of 4.19 but he has high strikeout potential everytime he takes the mound.
